Social Media & Communication Specialist

Manage Bakery Square’s social media accounts and implement strategies and tactics to grow our followers, engagement, and overall brand image. Applicants should have command of best practices and trends in social media marketing, understand Pittsburgh’s retail market and enjoy being creative. Applicant must have the ability to build lasting relationships with restaurants/retail tenants and strategize ways to compliment their marketing efforts while advertising Bakery Square as a whole.

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Build and manage Bakery Square’s social media profiles and online presence, including Facebook and Instagram and additional channels that may be deemed relevant
  • Create shareable content appropriate to promote our overall brand as well as relevant content related to all restaurant, retail and commercial office tenants within the plaza
  • Run regular social (online and in-person) promotions/campaigns and track their success
  • Monitor and engage in relevant social discussion about Bakery Square
  • Manage various email campaigns and create monthly newsletter with relevant content, events, sales etc.
  • Act as liaison between corporate and restaurant/retail tenants to compliment their retail marketing strategy and brainstorm ideas and suggestions that align with the goals of each tenant.
  • Conduct on-going store visits to further develop relationship with field team and better understand local retail environment and competitors.
  • Coordinate periodic on-site events from concept to clean up with the ability to delegate event planning tasks to other staff members when necessary.
  • Maintain Bakery Square’s website to include up-to-date information, relevant events etc.
  • Effectively communicate with corporate marketing team on a regular basis with frequent meetings

​Qualifications: 

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent program and/or equivalent work experience
  • Active and well-rounded personal presence in social media, with a command of each network and their best practices
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of Bakery Square’s various types of content
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and multi-task
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker
  • Proficiency using Adobe Suite including Photoshop and/or Illustrator
  • Flexibility to work some weekend hours during special events

Intern – Leasing

Walnut Capital is looking for Part Time Leasing Interns starting immediately, as well as Summer Interns for the upcoming season. Walnut Capital offers a great opportunity for anyone interested in marketing, event planning, real estate, and property management with one of Pittsburgh’s fastest growing real estate development companies.

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Work closely with rental programs such as Leasing Pad and Rent Café to answer inquiries and manage tenant accounts
  • Shadow leasing agents to show apartments to prospects
  • Prepare keys and organize materials for move in and move out procedures
  • Assist with creating and assembling marketing materials, client packages, and other communication projects
  • Support resident managers of new and upcoming properties in the East End and Uptown
  • Expand the Walnut Capital Perks Program by working with other businesses throughout Pittsburgh
  • Handle day-to-day office tasks, including answering phones, preparing for showings, making appointments, and any other leasing responsibilities

  • Interns should possess an interest in the Marketing, Event Planning, Real Estate Development or Property Management industry

Full Time Leasing Consultant

Walnut Capital is looking for a full time leasing consultant to hire immediately. We offer a great opportunity for anyone interested in both real estate and property management with one of Pittsburgh’s fastest growing real estate development companies.

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Complete all leasing paperwork, applicant screenings, credit checks, and renewals
  • Work with rental programs such as Leasing Pad, Rent Cafe and Yardi to answer inquiries and manage tenant accounts
  • Show apartments to prospects & answer any questions regarding rental rates, sizes, availability, etc.
  • Organize, log, and occasionally deliver all incoming packages for residents
  • Track and enter all purchase orders for the property
  • Prepare keys and organize materials for move in and move out procedures
  • Assist with monthly property events
  • Handle day-to-day office tasks, including answering phones, preparing for showings, making appointments, and any other leasing responsibilites

Qualifications:

  • Real Estate Development or Property Management experience a plus

Painters

Walnut Capital Management is looking for part time and full time summer painters for the upcoming season. This position is primarily responsible for applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures by performing the following duties.

Essential duties and responsibilities: 

  • Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Reads work order or receive instructions from supervisor or homeowner regarding painting.
  • Smoothes surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces to prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler.
  • Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
  • Removes fixtures such as pictures and electric switchovers from walls prior to painting.
  • Spreads drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and covers surfaces such as baseboards, door frames, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
  • Paints surfaces with brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers.
  • Simulates wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects.
  • Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects.
  • Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
  • Washes surfaces prior to painting with mildew remover.
  • Utilize department communication and information systems through all forms of communications
  • Any reasonable request by management that you are capable of performing

Student Brandbassador Internship

Walnut Capital is searching for PITT and CMU students who will represent Walnut Capital to targeted customers at on their campus in order to increase awareness, communicate our brand image, generate referrals and leads, and build customer preference. Position is part-time (assignment-based) and completed on student’s college campus at their own pace. Walnut Capital is looking for Brandbassdors who are passionate about our mission, motivated to complete assignments, and capable of promoting Walnut Capital. Our ideal Brandbassador is competitive, smart, social media savvy, and well-versed, and will embrace the challenges that Walnut Capital sets within the program.

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Embody the Walnut Capital Brand
  • Understand the company’s goals and mission
  • Create awareness, attention, leads and referrals
  • Represent company in an authentic and positive manner
  • Complete bi-weekly tasks throughout each semester (Ex: hanging flyers, posting and sharing on social media, short tabling events, expanding Walnut Perks program etc.)
  • Ongoing liking and commenting on any Walnut Capital posts to generate positive engagement
  • Create 3 blog posts per semester with relevant content of your choice
  • Posting appropriate Walnut Capital content to your social media platforms
  • Participate in outreach programs to involve peers into company’s offerings
  • Generate unique ideas to promote Walnut Capital on your campus

Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Brandbassador should possess general knowledge and appreciation for Sales and Marketing, especially digital and social channels (This internship is NOT limited to Marketing majors)
