Todd Reidbord is a leader in the Pittsburgh region when it comes to residential and mixed-use development. Reidbord and business partner Gregg Perelman head Walnut Capital, the company behind several large-scale developments in the city, including Bakery Square in the East End and numerous holdings in neighborhoods that include Oakland, Lawrenceville, Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, Bloomfield and the South Side.
On the South Side, Walnut Capital’s existing holdings include the 117-unit Hot Metal Flats, a residential development within SouthSide Works on which it partnered with Oxford Development Co. In addition, the company is working on a redevelopment plan for the former UPMC Mercy South Side campus, a property that a Walnut Capital affiliate paid over $9 million for.
Reidbord and his team are in the early stages of carrying out that residential redevelopment, which also is set to include a retail component. They are partnering with Strada and PJ Dick on the project.
