Our Newest Communities

The wait is finally over! Walnut Capital is extremely excited to announce that Bakery Living Blue and The Penn at Walnut on Highland are officially open! The East End neighborhood is thriving and Walnut Capital is focused on providing the best housing options in the area with the expansion of two new properties.

Bakery Living Blue is an expansion to the Bakery Living community that first began with the construction of Bakery Living Orange in 2014. Bakery Living Blue continues with the idea that home is beyond your bedroom walls. It’s also the lounge where you unwind after work, the bike trail located behind the building, or the outdoor space to grill and enjoy the weather. The property is loaded with luxury amenities like the state-of-the-art fitness center, quality swimming pool, convenient bike storage, and even complimentary Starbucks! Bakery Living Blue and Bakery Living Orange, though different buildings, will share all amenities. However, Bakery Living Blue comes equipped with a fitness center of it’s own, a spacious courtyard, a stunning lobby, a library and a vinyl room.

Not too far away, The Penn at Walnut on Highland is an expansion of Walnut on Highland, originally constructed by legendary architect Daniel Hudson Burnham in 1910. The building was preserved and renovated and in 2011 was honored by the Young Preservationist Association as number three on it’s annual Top Ten list of best preservation opportunities in the Pittsburgh area. The building is now an urban housing and retail development complex in the heart of the East End neighborhood. The high rise features chef-grade kitchens, keyless entry, bike storage space, a courtyard and onsite fitness center.

The expansion includes the addition of 78 high-end apartment units and other extras like a lounge and an outdoor seating area. Like Bakery Living, the buildings will share all amenities. The street level portion of The Penn will house over 16,000 square feet of retail that will be announced soon! For more information about The Penn or to schedule a tour, call 412.441.0300.
