Walnut Capital Employee Spotlight: Amanda Troup

Walnut Capital is happy to welcome the newest addition to our team, Amanda! Working in Accounts Payable, Amanda’s duties are entering all invoices that need paid including utilities, insurance, credit cards, as well as cutting checks & re-billing tenants; the important things!

Amanda is no stranger to Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas, growing up in Apollo and attending University of Pittsburgh – Johnstown as well as CCAC Boyce to gain her degree in Hotel Management. She had all kinds of different jobs growing up including restaurants and supermarkets, but her favorite was a little pizza shop in Ithaca, Michigan! When asked what made her move on from her last job of 12 years at Leeds, she replied

I felt it was time for a change.  I feel change is good every once in awhile, and I knew that Walnut Capital was a great & growing company.

It takes a lot to keep up with the fast paced environment of Walnut Capital, but that has seemed to come easy with Amanda! With a hard work ethic and great sense of humor, she has already made her mark as an important asset of this team. Amanda is looking forward to learning her job inside and out, and getting completely comfortable with everything on a day-to-day basis. We have total faith that she will be there in no time, and has been doing a fantastic job along the way!

And now for a little questionnaire:

Where are you from?

I am from Pittsburgh…grew up in a town called Apollo. Not many people around here even heard of it.  It is 45 minutes North East of the city.

What is the most interesting thing you have ever done?

I moved to Michigan when I was 19.  It was a fun exciting adventure for a few months.

What is your favorite Pittsburgh restaurant?

I honestly do not have one.  It is so hard to pick with so many good places to eat.  I have probably ate at every single restaurant in Monroeville except Smashburger, which I am excited to try.

Where do you like to shop?

I go to the Monroeville mall.  I also like the Grove City outlets.

What do you like to do on the weekends?

I relax mostly.  I watch movies, download music, and cook.  I sometimes go shopping too and once in awhile I go to the casino.

What do you love about Pittsburgh?

I love our sports teams. Especially the Steelers!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would go somewhere warm.  Hawaii sounds good.  As long as there is a beach and a pool I would be happy.
